This article examines the Ottoman sultanic privy purse in the Jerusalem district in the tenth century AH / 16th century AD and the fees and taxes connected with it. The article examines the administration of the sultanic privy purse, how its revenues were collected, and who benefitted from it – the public treasury of the state, some religious institutions in Jerusalem and a number of religious functionaries in the city.
