The Academic Problems of Teaching Staff Members in Al al-Bayt University from Their Viewpoint

Abstract


The study was designed to recognition the kinds of academic problems that face the teaching staff members in Al al-Bayt University and to acknowledge if there are statistical differences indication due to the variables of experience and scientific qualification of the teaching staff.

The research method used in the study was a questionnaire which consisted of (35) items distributed to five fields; problems related to the teaching staff members, problems related to the university administration, problems related to the promotion system, and problems related to the scientific research. The questionnaire sample consisted of (96) teaching staff members.

The findings of the study indicated that the major problems were related to the field of problems related to the students as well as the promotion procedures. While the minor problems were related to the administrative system of the University. Further the results reported that: there were no statistical significant differences relevant to different ranks of teaching staff with regard to problems concerned students, teaching staff members and the administration; there were statistical significant differences between the different ranks of teaching staff with regard to problem owners in two fields: the scientific research, and the promotion system; and there were no statistical significant differences due to the experience variable.
