Common Behavioral Problems of Preparatory Year Students at the University of Tabuk

Abstract


The study aim is to identify common behavioral problems of preparatory year students at the University of Tabuk. In addition, to identify the differences in these problems according to GPA, academic specialization, marital status, economic-social level, and type of housing. The sample consisted of (491) students. The researcher has used one questionnaire for the behavioral problems prepared by the researcher. The study revealed the following results:
1. There are common behavioral problems among female University of Tabuk, the most problems are the emotional problems, then performance problems, then cognitive problems and finally social problems.
2. There are statistically significant differences at (0. 01) in all dimensions of behavioral problems and the whole score according to academic specialization in favor of artistic specializations except cognitive problems where the differences are in favor of scientific specializations.
3. There are statistically significant differences at (0. 01) in social and emotional problems according to GPA in favor of low GPA.
4. There are statistically significant differences at (0. 01) in cognitive and social problems according to marital status in favor of unmarried students.
5. There are no statistically significant differences in all dimensions of behavioral problems and the whole score according to economic-social level.
6. There are no statistically significant differences in all dimensions of behavioral problems and the whole score according to type of housing and residence.
