The Level of Awareness of Science Tteachers in the Intermediate Stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of the Skills of the Twenty-First Century

Abstract


This study aimed at identify the level of awareness of science teachers in the intermediate stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of the skills of the twenty-first century. The sample of the study consisted of (93) male and female teachers (65.03%) of the study population, distributed to (48) male teachers (64.86%) from the male teacher community and (45) female teachers (65.22%) from the female teacher community. They were chosen in a simple random manner. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used the descriptive survey method. The study tool consisted of a questionnaire consisting of (57) skills distributed in (8) fields. The results showed that the level of awareness of science teachers of the skills of the twenty-first century was high, and that there is a difference of statistical significance in the level of awareness of science teachers of the skills of the twenty-first century due to gender, and in favor of females, while there is no statistically significant difference in the level of science teachers' awareness of the skills of the twenty-first century due to specialization or the number of years of teaching experience. The study recommended the importance of including science curricula and programs for preparing and qualifying the science teachers of the skills of the twenty-first century, and conducting similar studies on science teachers at various academic levels.
