The effectiveness of distance learning in teaching students with special needs in light of the Covid 19 from the point of view of their families, teachers and attitudes towards it in the State of Qatar

Abstract


This study aims to identify the effectiveness of distance learning in teaching students with special needs in light of the Covid 19 from the point of view of their families, teachers and attitudes towards it in the State of Qatar, the study consisted of all workers in the field of special education and the families of children with needs for the second semester of the academic year 2019/2020. Where the study sample is from (132) teachers in the field of special education in the State of Qatar, and (57) families with special needs, they were randomly selected, where the study tool was used and is a scale to measure The effectiveness of distance learning, which consisted of (20) paragraphs, and a scale of attitudes towards distance learning, which consisted of (18) items, and the validity and reliability of the two tools were verified. Where the results of the study showed statistically significant differences at the significance level of α≤ 0.05 in the effectiveness of distance learning and for who works in special education (t = 8.87). The results also showed that there are statistically significant differences according to the number of years of experience of special education teachers and in favor of more experience (F=17.97). The results also showed that the attitudes of workers and families of people with special needs was positive towards distance learning, as the study recommended adopting the use of distance learning technology in teaching, designing curricula.
