Genetic Analysis of Yield Seed and Its Components for Wheat



The study was carried out on 2010/2011 in with crossing used by factorial mating( AxB) between seven genotypes from Triticum aestivum are (Aras,Noor,Sham-6,Aiala)as males and (Maxibak,Tamoz-2,and adnanea)as females. In following season (2011-2012) the seed of the seven parents and their Crossed(F1) were grown in the farm of Alkoba village using R.C.B.D. with three replications to study the genetic behavior of the yield and its components. Genetic components estimated(additive, dominance and environment). General and specific combining ability, heterosis. average degree of dominance. heritability and correlation between the characters were estimated. The result showed that was a significant differences between genotypes for all characters. The parents (male &female) differed in the general combining ability effects. The heterosis obtained in the right direction for most traits. Ratio of general to specific combining ability components were less than one for most characters. The additive variance was more than one for the following traits(plant height , No. of branches per plant, spike length, grains yield/plant, biological yield ,and protein percentage, whirs the values for non-additive more than the additive for(No. of grains/spike, Seed index& Harvest index). Abroad sense heritability value was highest in all characters; whirs the heritability in narrow sense was medium in some characters and high for others. The average degree of dominance values was more than one for all characters except plant height and protein percentage, this indicating a presence of over-dominance. Some of the heterosis gave a signifint highbred vigor in the right direction. Seed yield/plant had positive significant correlation with no. of branch/plant, spike length and no. of seed/spike.
