Hanan I. Amayreh

The linguistic error has a negative reflection on the linguistic process in its two parts; the interlocutor and the receiver. The error stands as an obstacle in the way of communication which is the most important purpose of the language.

Diglossia between standard language and slang language is one of the responsible factors of linguistic error. This study aimed to identify the range of this diglossia on the linguistic performance; "vocal and written". This was done by addressing some linguistic models in which there were several linguistic errors. In addition to that, there was an analytical study to show the responsibility of diglossia of these errors. These linguistic errors include syntax, morphology, vocal and lexicon.

A way from the method of "say and do not say", this study aims to clarify the error, analyze it, identify the reason of the error's occurrence and balance between the standard and slang level, and how the error was generated between these two levels.
