The Reality of Faculty Members’ Performance in Saudi Universities in the Light of National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment

Abstract


The study aimed at identifying the reality of faculty members’ performance in Saudi universities in the light of national commission for academic accreditation and assessment. The study used survey descriptive analysis method. The population of the study consists of all faculty members in four Saudi universities which are: (University Of Tabuk, University of Ha’il, University of Jouf, northern border University) for those who have the following academic ranks (Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) which are (3231) members. The study has chosen a random sample which is (481) members distributed on the variables (academic rank, gender, university). The study used a questionnaire as a study tool its items distributed on five areas: (Administrative Leadership, Teaching, Research, Community Service, Professional Development).
The results indicate that faculty members’ performance in Saudi universities in the light of national commission for academic accreditation and assessment has ranked a moderate degree.
There are statistically significant differences in the level of significance (.05 ≥ α) in the study sample responses for both areas of (community service and professional development) due to the variable of (gender) in favor of males. Meanwhile, are statistically significant differences due to the variable of (university). The study recommends with the importance of keeping up with providing specialized training programs in teaching.
