The Implementation Degree of knowledge Management in Al-Balqa’a Applied University in Jordan from the Perspective of Faculty Members

Abstract


The research aimed at identifying the implementation degree of knowledge management in Al-Balqa’a Applied University /Jordan from the perspective of faculty members and to identify the differences in the degree of application of knowledge management in light of the following variables; gender, scientific qualification, academic rank, and practical experience in university teaching. In order to develop the implementation degree of knowledge management in Balqa’a Applied University, the researcher had designed a study tool consisted of two parts. The first one was to measure some demographic variables for the study sample namely; gender, scientific qualification, academic rank, and practical experience in university teaching, and the second one consisted of (56) items distributed on eight areas that measure the implementation degree of knowledge management in Balqa’a Applied University. The study population consisted of faculty members at the University of Balqa’a Applied University colleges in the Central Region provinces, and they were (652) members. (215) questionnaires were distributed and (171) were valid for statistical analysis with a rate of (26.22%). The results of the study showed that the implementation degree of the faculty members in the Balqa’a Applied University was moderate in the field of recognizing the role of knowledge management and weak in other areas. Whereas the implementation degree to the items of knowledge management was high in three items, medium in(18) items, and weak in (36) items. The study showed that there were statistically significant differences in the variables of gender in favor of males and scientific qualification in favor of a doctorate degree. The results also showed that there were differences in academic rank variable in favor of associate professors, and lack of differences in teaching experience in all areas. The study ended with number of recommendations
