A proposed model for developing professional development programs of educational supervisors in the Jordanian Ministry of Education

Abstract


This study aims at proposing a model for developing professional development programs of the educational supervisors in the Jordanian Ministry of Education. To achieve this aim, a questionnaire is formed to measure the degree of effectiveness of professional development programs of the educational supervisors from their perspective. The study tool consists of 62 items distributed into seven domains. Considering its liability and validity, the tool is applied on the study sample which is (279) male and female supervisors, who were selected randomly. The study results revealed that the effectiveness degree of programs in general and from educational supervisors’ perspective is medium in all domains and in most items. Considering these results, the researcher recommends that the Jordanian Ministry of Education must adopt the model of developing professional development programs of educational supervisors proposed by the study provided that it is tested and adapted in compliance with the Ministry needs.
