Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the effect of a suggested program for a special physical fitness in table tennis on improving some variables of kinesthetic perception and skill performance, The researcher used the experimental method because of its relevance to the nature of the study, The study sample consisted of (33) female students from the sport Sciences Faculty at Mu'tah University. including two sections from table tennis (1) and badminton, They were divided in two identical groups, The experimental group which consisted of (16) female students who practiced the suggested program for (8) weeks, with two training units for each week, The control group consisted of (17) female students who practiced the usual program of the faculty, The researcher tested the two groups using the tests of the characteristics of special physical fitness, besides measuring the variables of the kinesthetic perception before applying the suggested program. After applying the suggested program, post measurements were conducted for the two groups: besides, measuring the level of skill performance in table tennis.
The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences with regard to the improvement of the physical fitness level for the female students in the experimental group, and a decline of error in estimating the variables of the Kinesthetic perception (feeling of time, feeling of distance, feeling of power) for the female students in the experimental group, The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences in the level of skill performance in favor of the experimental group, The researcher recommends about paying more attention to providing training programs (physical and skill) in order to improve the special physical fitness and the Kinesthetic perception in table tennis because it has a clear positive effect on improving the level of skill performance in table tennis.
