The Degree of Implementation Potentials of Self- administrated Schools in Public Schools from Academic Leaders Perceptions in Riyadh Region of Saudi Arabia

Abstract


The purpose of the study was to investigate the possibility of applying school self administration in public schools from the educational leader's point of view in Riyadh region in Saudi Arabia The sample of the study consisted of 7 superintendents , 169 male public school principals and 138 female public school principals. The study adopted the analytical descriptive approach. To achieve the purpose of the study, the researchers prepared a questionnaire consisting in the final format of 40 items administrated to public schools principals. The questionnaire distributed on 7 domains. The researchers also prepared an interview consisting of 8 open ended questions administrated to superintendents. The results of the study indicated that the possibility of applying school self administration in public schools from the educational leader's point of view in Riyadh region in Saudi Arabia of school self administration in Saudi public schools was high on the whole instrument, (M= 4.01) and was very high on the following domains: students' affaires, educational objectives, educational supervision and financial affaires. Study subjects' assessments were high on the following domains: staff and teachers' affaires and school building. Study subjects' assessments were moderate on curricula. Superintendents' assessments towards the implementation potentials of school self administration in Saudi public schools were high also on the 8 questions asked. 68% of the superintendents were with the applying of school self administration, while 32% were against that.
