Hanada Majed Almoumani

This study aimed to investigate the role of entrepreneurship characteristics in building entrepreneurship universities. The study was conducted on eight private universities in Jordan including Alzaytoonah Private University of Jordan, University of Petra, Middle East University, Amman Private University, Irbid National University, Philadelphia University, Jerash University and Zarqa Private University. The study sample consisted of 56 individuals including, Deans of Faculties, Heads of academic departments, and directors of departments. The study was based on testing a number of hypotheses linking the relationship between entrepreneurship characteristics of workers such as self-confidence, self-motivation, seriousness, risk tolerance, willingness to achievement as independent variables and the construction of entrepreneurship universities as dependent variable. From the perspective of academic and administrative workers at the private universities, the results showed that the effect of the above entrepreneurship characteristics of workers were statistically significant in building entrepreneurship universities ( 0.05). Therefore, the study recommends that Jordanian private universities must adopt the benefit of entrepreneurial employee's characteristics and their outputs in building entrepreneurial university. This could be achieved through orientation of workers in their own habitat, and the establishment and implementation of innovative ideas of employees regardless of their administrative levels and to give material and moral incentives in order to achieve job satisfaction for them and meet their needs. The end result will untimely reflect on the university performance levels towards an entrepreneurship university
