The Political Behavior and it’s Effect in the Organizational Conflict

Abstract


The study aims at diagnosing the theoretical and intellectual implications of the two phenomena of political behavior and organizational conflict of the members of the fourteenth Jordanian national assembly (parliament) (notables and representatives) it also aims at acquainting with the nature of the relationship between the basic dimensions of the political behavior and organizational conflict, and their organizational and psychological effects within the causative concept which has always been related to the concept of both political behavior and organizational conflict.

The study sample consists of (78) members of parliament, (23) of which are notables and (55) representatives, chosen by the caste random sample method, the sample forms (30) percent of the study population. A questionnaire has been developed as a tool to gather necessary data.

The study comes to a number of result, the most significant of which are:

  • 1. There is a difference between the patterns of political behavior and the patterns of organizational conflict of the members of parliament (notables and representatives) in favor of the notables.
  • 2. There is a difference in the strategies of political behavior and the strategies of organizational conflict of the members of parliament (notables and representatives) in favor of the notables.
  • 3. There is correlation with a statistical significance between the combined dimensions of the political behavior and each of the variables (of gender, social status, experience of job, times as member of parliament, party to which one belongs), with a verification rate of (71) percent.
  • 4. There is correlation with a statistical significance between the combined dimensions of the organizational conflict and each of the variables (of social status, number of times as member of parliament) with a verification rate of 29 percent.
  • 5. The result shows that the combined dimensions of political behavior (agreement on objectives, agreement on public policies and personal agreement) have explained (25.2) percent. (46.3) percent and (48.8) percent consequently of the total variance of the dimensions of organizational conflict.
